The story behind Murayama Woodworks
01 How it started
Practical to nerdy.
Murayama Woodworks is where I make handmade wood accessories, from practical to nerdy: a stand for your headphones, a tray for your dice, a display for a lightsaber hilt, a cutting board for the kitchen.
Every piece is made by hand from hardwoods like maple, walnut, purpleheart and canarywood, and I’ve made custom pieces for customers too.

02 Where & how it’s made
Made by hand in California, from real hardwood
Contrasting hardwoods do the decorating: pale maple, dark walnut, deep purple purpleheart and golden canarywood.
- Hardwood first. Each piece starts with solid maple, walnut, purpleheart or canarywood.
- Made by hand. Made by me in California, one piece at a time.
- Made to be used. Dice trays get a soft faux suede floor, and stands are built to hold the real thing.
